Flexo Photopolymer Printing Plate

Flexography printing plates are flexible photopolymer plates; it is used in flexo printing to transfer ink and images to a flexible substrate, such as a paper or film. The printing plates are critical and very important element of the flexographic printing process; it affects the quality of printed images completely. The flexo process is well known for adapting to print on to all types of flexible substrates and the plates can be used for millions of impressions. The plates are designed in relief; it means the print surface is raised where the image has been exposed. The plate surface is the only area which comes into contact with the substrate when ink is applied to plate, and the etched or relieved areas do not contact the ink.

Earlier flexo plates have manufactured by rubber, but today photopolymer material in sheet form, this differentiates two of them from fixed printing plates of offset printing. These plates remain flexible,  and you can wrap it around cylindrical print or plate rollers.
